Teju Cole ist Romanautor, Essayist und Fotograf. Zurzeit ist er Professor für Kreatives Schreiben in Harvard und schreibt für das New York Times Magazine. Sein neuestes Buch ist der mehrfach ausgezeichnete Roman Tremor (2023), der jetzt auf Deutsch erscheint. Cole taucht in diesem Roman tief in die Kolonialgeschichte der USA ein und untersucht mit literarischen Mitteln, wie diese bis heute ihre Spuren hinterlässt.
In Fragen der Zeit, einer Kooperation mit dem Literaturhaus Basel, nehmen bedeutende Denker:innen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen Stellung zu Gegenwartsfragen.
