Open Studio

First explore the Museum yourself and then head for the studio – or the other way round? Every first Sunday of the month, our studio is open to anyone who before or after touring the Museum wishes to be creative, explore things, or experiment. The studio is run by two art educationalists who are at hand with support and advice and the one or other surprise.

Der Goldene Herbst
In the open studio, we ring in the fall season and devote ourselves to the trees, which are now changing their clothes! The green gives way and we find more and more shades of red, brown, yellow and gold. Inspired by natural materials, we draw and paint trees of all kinds or experiment with frottage techniques. Together we create a complete work of art from a wide variety of leaves in the form of a colorful treetop.

Die Geschenkeküche
Household items in a different way: in this Open Atelier, we use peelers, scaffolding knives and sandpaper to transform conventional soap blocks into exciting shapes. To complete the gift, we make imaginative packaging from a variety of materials. The time for giving may come!

Alles im grünen Bereich
This Sunday we dedicate ourselves to the color green. We create, draw and paint in a variety of shades of green and with a variety of materials. Anyone who wants to can use the opportunity to design the first Christmas and New Year cards: be it a personal greeting card with pictures, drawings, collages, a pop-up card or a foldable treasure chest. We make full use of the possibilities of a single colour!

Do you already have any presents, but they haven't been wrapped yet? No problem, because in the open studio you have the chance to design special gift wrapping! Using stencils made of different materials, you can create fantasy creatures or abstract motifs that are transferred to fabrics and papers.
